REPLACING AN RME

License with RME – Sole Owner, Partner, Corporation

RME – SOLE OWNER STATUS

Exam waivers for the owner

  •  Ownership: The license belongs to the owner, the RME can be replaced. As the owner you are eligible for a waiver of the examination under the following conditions.
  • Status: The license has remained in good standing for five of the past seven years.
  • Qualifier: The owner (licensee) will replace the RME and qualify the license.
  • Trades: All trade classifications listed on the license for five of the past seven years may be qualified by the owner.

The RME in Summary

Your license number is a sole ownership:

  •  The RME has no ownership in the company
  • The license does not belong to the RME
  • If the RME disassociates without replacement, the license will be suspended

The owner is eligible for a waiver of the examination:

  • Take control of the license

RME – Partnership Status

  • When the RME disassociates, the license is suspended
  • With the loss of any one general partner, the license is cancelled

General partners listed on the license are eligible for a waiver of the exam:

  •  Until the RME is replaced, the partners are not in control of the license.
  • The partnership needs a back-up in the event of the RME’s absence.
  • Qualified partners of the partnership should consider waiving the examinations while the license is in good standing.
  • A waiver of the examination for partners will not be approved after the license is suspended or cancelled.
